Meet Our Excellent Counselors
Erika Ware, Counselor, MA, PLPC
Hello! I’m Erika, based in New Orleans, and I believe that therapy is a crucial space where you can take a breath, feel supported, and start to release feelings, such as shame, that no longer serve you.
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Xavier University of Louisiana and have 14 years of experience in the mental health field. My work is fueled by a deep sense of empathy, care, and curiosity about people and their stories. I employ a warm, collaborative, client-centered approach, incorporating evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and a Gestalt framework. This helps individuals, whether seeking marriage counseling in Slidell, LA, or any other form of therapy, better understand themselves, their patterns, and what arises in the present moment.
A significant aspect of my practice is empowering clients to release the shame that often keeps them feeling stuck, silent, or disconnected from their true selves. Many individuals come to therapy carrying guilt, self-blame, or the belief that something is wrong with them. I am dedicated to creating a safe, affirming environment where these experiences can be explored with openness and compassion, allowing healing to begin through understanding rather than judgment. Many clients seek marriage counseling in Slidell, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. My goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered to reconnect with your strengths.
I am honored to accompany you on your path to healing, growth, and greater self-acceptance.
Sandra Tillman, Counselor, LPC
Your healing and growth — that’s why I do what I do. I believe every person deserves the chance to live free: free from trauma, anxiety, fear, broken relationships, and the pain of the past. As a licensed counselor, Air Force veteran, and woman of faith, I bring both clinical training and real-life experience to the work of providing compassionate counseling that helps others find that freedom. It’s my honor to walk alongside people as they rebuild trust in themselves, their relationships, and their future.
Supporting New Orleans, my approach integrates evidence-based therapy—like CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic theory—with a deep respect for your spiritual journey. Whether you’re struggling with identity, grief, addiction, or feeling lost in a season of transition, you don’t have to carry it alone. Mental health therapy can be a safe space to ask hard questions, reconnect with your values, and rediscover your strength.
You are not alone. We all need support, perspective, and encouragement. When you’re ready, I’m here—ready to listen, ready to walk with you, and ready to help you move forward with hope through New Orleans counseling.
Chris Lee, Counselor, MA, PLPC
Seeking care can be a daunting experience—from trusting your instincts about whether a therapist feels like the right fit, to believing in your own capacity to grow and heal. I view my role as providing a reliable, consistent space where clients feel empowered to explore their lives in ways that may have once felt out of reach.
I believe we all have an innate desire to connect, to feel heard, and to be understood. My approach to therapy is grounded in this belief. I strive to create a validating and encouraging space while gently challenging you in ways that support meaningful and lasting growth.
Admitting we need help is hard, and taking the next step can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or trauma related to sexual assault (SA) or intimate partner violence (IPV), together we can work towards creating a brighter, more fulfilling future. Therapy can be a difficult journey, but it is also one that can help you become the most authentic and empowered version of yourself.
Thank you for considering me as part of your healing journey. Taking this step is significant, and I don’t take that lightly. I deeply respect the work you’ve already done and view therapy as one of many meaningful choices in your growth. I look forward to hearing your story—where you’ve been and where you hope to go.

Brandi Johnson, LMSW
Life can be challenging, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, heard, and supported—without judgment. My goal is to create a welcoming space where we can work together to help you heal, grow, and move toward the life you want.
I enjoy working with older adolescents (17+) and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and women's issues. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals and couples experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, and other reproductive life transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for support, I'm here to help.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I use evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy to tailor treatment to your unique needs.
Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage, and I would be honored to support you as you build resilience, discover your strengths, and create meaningful change.
Alex Currington, Counselor, Double MA (Clinical Mental Health Counseling), PLPC
Hey hey! I'm Alex Currington from Detroit, Michigan. As a therapist passionate about supporting individuals navigating stress, burnout, life transitions, and personal growth, I have dedicated over a decade to the helping professions. Now based in New Orleans, I have spent the last five years working throughout the New Orleans and metro New Orleans community.
With my dual graduate background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Higher Education, I understand the unique pressures faced by professionals, caregivers, and those in demanding environments. I work collaboratively in my sessions and integrate Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy to help my clients strengthen coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop healthier, more empowering stories about themselves.
I strive to create a supportive and affirming space where you feel heard and understood, while also encouraging meaningful action toward the changes you want to see in your life.
Dawne Moffett, Counselor, LCSW
Hi, I'm Dawne, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in New Orleans, bringing 12 years of experience in the mental health field — along with a genuine love for people, purpose, and progress.
I specialize in compassionate counseling for teens, young adults, and anyone navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, or feeling stuck. My practice integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based support, and Functional Family Therapy (FFT). I believe that prioritizing your mental health starts with taking care of yourself — whether that's through self-care, movement, or rediscovering joy in life's simple moments.
For the past eight years, I have assisted families and children in understanding autism, developmental delays, speech concerns, and more. This experience has deepened my appreciation for how compassionate listening can truly make a difference.
I bring a youthful, down-to-earth energy into our sessions. My clients often express that they feel comfortable being themselves with me, knowing they can discuss anything in a safe, confidential space.
If you're searching for a therapist who is real, relatable, and ready to help you take things one day at a time, I'm here to support your healing, growth, and achieving goals that resonate with you.
Shannon S. Blestel, Counselor, LCSW, MSW, BCD
Your freedom! That is why I do what I do! I believe we are meant to live lives full of joy, free from depression, fear, addictions, and the factors that can turn potentially good relationships into bad ones. Supporting New Orleans, my life has been dedicated to this vision for all people. I am continually humbled by the privilege of being part of the healing and freedom in people's lives through compassionate counseling.
I encourage you not to wait. Get the life you have always wanted and deserve. I believe relationships are meant to enrich our lives. Parents can be mentors and a great resource for their children, guiding them through difficult times. It's all about the relationship.
All of us —including me— need another's point of view and some guidance from time to time. It is the wise person who knows when it's time to reach out. There is no need to struggle alone. We all need a safe place to talk about what's happening in our lives. Reach out and give me a call for mental health therapy! You can ask any questions you have. You have nothing to lose.

Carmen Butler, Counselor, MS in Counseling, LPC
Starting counseling can feel like a big step, especially if you're used to carrying things on your own. I see therapy as a gentle invitation to slow down and make space for yourself - your thoughts, your feelings, and your healing. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin; simply showing up is enough.
Supporting New Orleans, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's Degree in Counseling. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, which means I believe you already hold the capacity for growth and change within you. My role is to offer a warm, supportive space where you feel safe to explore your experiences at your own pace.
I believe in meeting people exactly where they are in their journey. Whether you're navigating stress, uncertainty, personal growth, or life transitions, our work together is guided by empathy, respect, and genuine connection. I'm here to walk alongside you - not to judge or direct - but to listen, understand, and support you as you gain clarity and confidence in yourself.
Your story matters, and I look forward to supporting you as you move toward greater clarity and peace.
Eileen Burke, LCSW
With more than 40 years of experience, I have helped so many people navigate anxiety, depression, stress management, coping skills, grief, trauma, sexual abuse, aging, life transitions and PTSD. Relationship difficulties, and communication issues are the areas I am most gifted in helping people. My goal is to provide the support and guidance you need while creating a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and valued.
I have very deep appreciation for the uniqueness of each person. I remain genuinely interested in people and the stories that shape their lives, and I continue to find each person’s journey unique and meaningful.
I especially enjoy working with adults, couples, families, veterans, and LGBTQ+ individuals. One of my greatest strengths is providing an affirming, respectful, and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. We can start exactly where you are and work together toward healing, stronger relationships, and greater understanding.
I have extensive experience using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Relationship-Focused Therapy. I have also completed additional training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. As you can see, I am well equipped to help you work toward the changes that matter most to you. Looking forward to our journey together.
Jacqueline Dallimore, MA, PLPC, NCC
I am dedicated to helping individuals build stronger connections with themselves, deepen their relationships, and reach their aspirations. I approach therapy with warmth, empathy, and a deep understanding of life’s challenges. My goal is to create an inviting, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.
I especially enjoy working with adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, including couples of all backgrounds. Whether you’re navigating trauma, life transitions, communication difficulties, or a general feeling of being stuck, therapy can help you move toward greater clarity, healing, and lasting change.
I believe meaningful growth happens when we feel safe enough to be honest, curious, and compassionate with ourselves. It would be an honor to support you in finding greater balance, fulfillment, and connection in your life.
Brianna Hardy, Counselor, PLPC
I believe healing happens through safe, supportive connection. If you are reading this, you may be feeling disconnected from a partner, friends, community, or even yourself. If you feel lost or out of place in your own life or body, you are not alone and do not have to carry it by yourself. Reaching out for counseling can feel vulnerable and even scary, but it can also be a meaningful first step toward feeling more grounded, understood, and empowered.
I aim to build our work together on trust, respect, and compassion. I want you to feel fully seen and heard with dignity and kindness. It is an honor to walk alongside you in your journey.
My primary approach makes room for life's big questions and transitions, such as love, grief, aging, purpose, anxiety, addiction, and the changes that can shake your sense of self. You set the pace and the goals, and together we will find meaning, build insight, and move toward more joy and connection. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and practical and creative tools for you to use outside of session.
My background includes work with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, navigating addiction and rehabilitation, processing grief, and supporting military families, relationship concerns, incarceration and reentry, parenting and caregiving, mental health challenges, and gender and sexual identity exploration.
I have learned firsthand that support and connection can change everything, and my hope is that you experience this too.
